Last night, I purchased “Awaken“, a pretty cool clock/alarm app for my iPad. I wanted to try it out as a bedside clock, but to do that I needed a stand of some sort so I could stand up my iPad on my bedside table. My previous theory was that a simple business card holder would make a decent iPad stand, but I didn’t have one handy. What I did have handy, was my Gorillapod (SLR). Turns out they make a perfect iPad stand. Rubber grips, flexible legs, works in portrait or landscape mode, super-stable. Perfect. I dub thee “GorillaPad Stand” (and yes, probably infringe on 2 trademarks at once).

Nice, we have one of these… all we need now is the ipad.
Why don't you go line up for a few days at the Apple store and pick one up along with an iPhone4?
How do you find the glow from the screen at night?
Too bright to have right next to the bed, but it can be set to dim the screen down. It'd be nice to have a dimmer control right there on the clock so you could easily switch it, or the ability to just make the screen go completely black, but come back with a tap perhaps?
Just discovered something cool by mistake. If you swipe the screen up or down while in clock mode, it has an in-app brightness adjustment. Using this, you can turn it right down to barely a glow and it'd be fine to have next to a bed.
Looks like a sex toy…….
Nice for a budget option!
I use the cricket iPad stand, I actually bought it for my Macbook, but it supports an iPad just as well: http://www.ergofurniture.com.au/cricket-laptop-st…
